At C.H. Robinson, our commitment to carriers isn’t just about business—it’s about people, families, and communities. It’s showing up for and supporting the drivers who keep everything moving, in ways that go beyond a transaction.
Last year, the C.H. Robinson Foundation and company gave nearly $1 million to support the trucking community and industry through scholarships, charitable donations, partnerships with nonprofit organizations, and more. During Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we’re proud to spotlight some of our nonprofit partners and the initiatives making a real difference for the carrier community year-round.
Investing in the next generation
The future of trucking depends on inspiring and preparing the next wave of drivers. The Next Generation in Trucking Association partners with schools and colleges to develop training for commercial drivers, diesel technicians, and supply chain professionals. By providing curriculum resources and connecting students with employers, NextGen is helping introduce young people to rewarding careers in transportation and building a skilled workforce for the future.
“We have been partnered with the C.H. Robinson Foundation for two years now and it has totally transformed what we are able to do and how we are able to meet students where they’re at,” said Lindsey Trent, President and Co-Founder of Next Generation in Trucking Foundation. “To bring in industry to be able to support school programs and to educate young people about trucking and careers, and to get them excited about a future in the trucking industry—it literally has changed thousands of young people’s lives.”
Providing relief when it’s needed most
Unexpected illness or injury can sideline even the most dedicated drivers. With support from C.H. Robinson and the C.H Robinson Foundation, St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund helps provide financial assistance to drivers and their families when medical challenges keep them off the road.
SCF has supported over 4,000 truck drivers, distributing more than $5 million in aid. This assistance has helped drivers and their families cover essential expenses like rent, utilities, and insurance, ensuring they can stay in their homes and maintain stability during difficult times.
Standing together for safer communities
C.H. Robinson and the C.H. Robinson Foundation is proud to stand alongside Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), empowering drivers to be a force for good on the road. TAT’s training and awareness programs help equip transportation professionals to recognize and report human trafficking, making roads safer and protecting lives.
“Unfortunately, human trafficking is closer to all of us than we really want to believe. Empowering people through information and training leads to real action, and lives are being changed and saved,” said Laura Cyrus, Senior Director of Industry Training and Outreach, Truckers Against Trafficking. “Because of the support of C.H. Robinson and the Foundation, we’ve been able to train more than 1.4 million people since 2019. That’s 1.4 million people on the front line standing with us in this life-saving work. To date, TAT has trained over 2.2 million people with our life-saving message, and we are grateful for C.H. Robinson's support as we seek to train and engage millions more."
Advancing women across the industry
The Women in Trucking Association (WIT) is focused on its mission to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry. WIT advances its mission through scholarships, mentorship, conferences, and related programs and services.
Since its founding, WIT has awarded over 350 scholarships totaling more than $350,000, helping women pursue careers as drivers, technicians, and leaders. With support from partners like the C.H. Robinson and the C.H. Robinson Foundation, WIT continues to expand its reach—addressing challenges such as industry perceptions, training barriers, and more, opening doors for more women to thrive.
As we look across the carrier community, it’s clear that the impact of supporting drivers goes far beyond the road—it strengthens families, uplifts communities, and ensures the resilience of our entire industry,” said Rachel Schwalbach, Vice President of Environment, Social & Governance and President of the C.H. Robinson Foundation. “When we invest in the wellbeing and success of carriers, we’re investing in a brighter future for everyone.
